There is one factor you actually lack," my friend told me. I had just shown him a web site project I am working on. Because the owner of a large cleaning firm, my friend took an intense interest in my business model.

"What's it?" I asked, certain he was going to say something about my overall site design or the brand that I realized suddenly, as I reexamined it, was a touch tacky.

"Relationships," he said. "If you would like to grow this web site business of yours, you would like to induce out there and build relationships with real people." He looked thoughtfully at the location for a moment. "This can be really sensible," he said. "However in all my twenty years in business, one factor has never changed - real business is made on making connections with people." He went on to describe how he gets clients from his church, his exercise club, and - especially - from satisfied customers. "You need to form that happen here."

"That sounds great," I said, a touch confused. "But your business is in the important world. I mean, you clean buildings. Mine is in cyberspace. What is the association?"

He smiled. "Now that I know you build websites, I will put a link to your website from mine. Then you place a link to mine from yours. I know you. I trust you. My friends can too, once they recognize I do."

In the Internet world, we have a tendency to hear a heap regarding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and backlinks. If you wish Google, Bing, and Yahoo! to notice your site, you must take steps to make them. Half of that process is obtaining links to your site from different sites. The additional sites that mention yours and link into it, the upper it goes in the search engine rankings. And within the Web, that is higher than gold. Analysis proves that when most folks are wanting for product, they almost continuously purchase from the primary 10 search engine results. Thus if you show up on page fifteen, you pretty much don't show at all.

Thus back to my friend's comment. How can you build relationships and find links to your website? As I discovered, several of my friends and associates have websites - and all of them are glad to link me. Even my church did.

Maybe you have got a dynamic site. How regarding loosening the foundations? Rather than forcing folks to sign up to comment or vote in polls, place a CAPTCHA on the form. Individuals appreciate website directors trusting them, and that they can respond by mentioning the site.

Continually be searching for ways to encourage community. Add alternative individuals's pages to your site links. The more backs you scratch, the a lot of people will visit your site.
