[edit] Braidlocs: Fantastic voyage

I don't have a lot to put as I am just One month and a week into my braidlocz or bradelocz. Although, I have to say I am loving them right at the outset. I have various reasons for doing locs at all. First, I have to say that all last year I had worn cornrows, and even though you can get a lot of styles from them I just got tired of them. Second, I will not lie I actually had a dream that I loc'd my hair, and it was a good dream. Third, I had done research all over the net when I was curious about them and then when I saw pics I just knew I had to go along with the dream I had, had. My reason for doing braidlocz was so that I could wash my hair right away and they wouldn't unravel. I didn't want sisterlocs, because besides the cost I just think they are just too small to me. Sisterlocs are pretty, but its just not something I wanted. [edit] Maintaining my locs

I have started my Braidlocs on my own and I plan on maintaining them on my own. I am currently using the latch hook for my new growth, but I'm thinking of using the nappyloc tool. Also, I've only latched once as to not latch to much. I must admit though I love playing with my tight spirals on the ends of my locs. I believe those are called buds, not completely sure. The last time I deep conditioned my hair which was a few days ago, I used natural ingredients to treat my hair. I used extra virgin olive oil and honey for a hot oil treatment and left it on for about an hour then rinsed. Then I put yogurt and egg on my hair for about 3 minutes then did a long rinse in the shower. I love the water running on my hair in the shower its very relaxing. Every other day I just put extra virgin olive oil on my Braidlocs and I plan on trying castor oil out too. I wash my hair once every week.
