[edit] First Steps to take after you find out your pregnant

This is a very important milestone in your life. You will hear all kinds of advice, rumors, and old wives tales. Sometimes you will get scared its normal, but your doctor can clear up any doubts. I can not stress enough how important it is to do two things taking your prenatal vitamins and seeing your doctor for every appointment. You can come up with creative ways of telling your husband or boyfriend the news, such as cooking his favorite meal and making a

romantic scene. Note: Try to get his social security number before you tell him it will be helpful in the long run.d If you don't have access to family or friends such as being in a new city; for instance your in a military lifestyle they have programs where you can meet new people, so that you don't have to go it alone. A person not in the military may have programs at your local YMCA that could help. If your strapped for cash the YMCA has scholarships you can apply for. Speaking of being strapped for cash if you find your self pregnant without a job and without support. Don't feel ashame to get government help to get yourself back on your feet. Many people have done it before and many people will do it after you.

[edit] To Breastfeed or to not Breastfeed

Also as soon as you find out your program is when you should be thinking about breastfeeding or not. I strongly advocate breastfeeding, but if you don't breastfeed or can't breastfeed (talk to your doctor) you can still bond with your baby. If you can breastfeed please try to stick with it for at least two weeks, also a lot of hospitals have a specific person such as a lactation consultant that can help you with breastfeeding and planning to go back to work while breastfeeding.

This is a time to pamper yourself get bath salts, scented soaps, scented lotions, and pedicures. In addition there a lot more options for maternity clothes. Have fun with it. Even though some mothers take a negative view of their body while pregnant. I have found that there are a lot of men that find a pregnant woman very beautiful. In addition, just because your body is changing there's no reason why you shouldn't think you're beautiful as well. Try taking professional pictures while your pregnant. Making love during pregnancy can be fun, because a lot of women are in the mood a lot during this time. Some couples see making love as a no no during pregnancy, but it is healthy for a couple to make love during pregnancy. I would talk to your doctor together if you have any concerns about it.
