Getting a new cat
From Meshplex
"No matter how much cats fight, there always seems to be plenty of kittens." - Abraham Lincoln
There are approximately 88.3 million owned cats in the United States alone. Think about all those shelter cats that need a home before you go to a breeder. Although, sometimes you can get a cat that maybe "retired" from a breeder. You might be thinking what kind of cat should I get. There are lots of information sites that give you insight to a cats breed, behavior, and physical characteristics. Some cats have been through tough times and need special attention no matter what their breeds characteristics. It's best to ask questions from the person you are adopting from before you bring the cat home, so there won't be any surprises. Please be prepared with the right equipment before adopting the cat. Purchases before getting the cat or cats:
- Litter Box - Manual ones that are easily to clean are best. Remember to keep up with cleaning the poop twice a day.
- Litter -The cheap litter will have a short life span and will stink up your house
- Baking Soda - Sprinkle at the bottom of litter box
- feeding bowl
- Water bowl- Most cats like the water fountain bowls that are made for pets, but it's a lot pricier than getting just a regular bowl.
- Cat toys - This one is not expensive at all and box with a ball of yarn could start you off.
