[edit] C# Operators

The C# arithmetic operators execute basic math tasks. you have seen these operators since kindergarden they operate no differently in C#. Here is a list of the arithmetic operators:

C# Arithmetic Operators

Operator Name Description
+ Addition Adds two or more variables.
- Subtraction Subtracts two or more variables.
* Multiplication Multiplies two or more variables.
/ Division Divides the numerator by the denominator.

[edit] C# Arithmetic Example

Note: Pay attention to how the variables and literals are added.

Example:

using System;
class Test
{
    static void Main()
    {

        int a = 2;
        int b = 6;
        int c = a - b;

        float d = 1f;
        float e = 11.1f;

        Console.WriteLine(c);
        Console.WriteLine(d + e);
        Console.Read();
    }
}
